Rulebook

Section 1-OVERALL
1.1) The Top 25 Rock Countdown is designed to be a boost for rock music artists of all sub-genres to get their music heard by cycling through a lot of songs in a years time and avoid overplaying any certain title.

1.2) To avoid having a title being overfeatured, or "overplayed", all songs are limited to 8 weeks on the actual top 25. A song can be considered for the Top 25 as long as it has been released within the year of the chart (e.g. if a song is released in 2017, it is only eligible to be on a chart put out in 2017. Once a song is placed into the #1 spot, it is retired into the Hall of Hits.

1.3) There will be 44 lists released per year, one a week starting 8 Sundays after the first Sunday of the year. The previous years awards will be given 3 Sundays after the opening year.

2.1) All songs released during the current year are eligable to be placed on the Top 25 Chart (e.g. if a song is released in 2017, it is eligable to be on any 2017 chart).

2.2) There will be one exception to this rule. If a song is released in the final 5 weeks of a year, it will be eligable to debut on the first 5 charts of the following year (e.g. if a song is released on December 23rd, 2017, it will be eligable to debut on the first 5 charts of 2018).

2.3) Songs will be eligable to be on the Top 25 Chart for 8 weeks to avoid being overfeatured, or "overplayed." A song will be retired after it's 8th week in the Top 25.

2.4) If a song is knocked out of the Top 25 Chart before it's 8th week, the song will still be eligable to re-enter the chart.
